The band’s name, Elegant Formula, was inspired by Sam’s background in mathematics. He saw parallels between the beauty of mathematical formulae and the complexity of music, and the others agreed it was a provocative and reflective name for their collective. It symbolized their commitment to creating music that was not just melodically pleasing, but also rhythmically intricate and layered.
