Elliptical Leather

1. Backstory:

Elliptical Leather began as a spontaneous display of musical collaboration during a college fraternity party at the University of Texas. Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Travis Darrow, and drummer, Ethan “Sticks” Rodriguez, were both music majors who had crossed paths in the school’s jazz ensemble. They met bassist, Remy Chen, an engineering student with a hidden talent for intricate bass rhythms, during a late-night jam session in their dorm’s common room. Completing the quartet, they stumbled upon lead guitarist, Jessie James, a Minnesota native who could make his guitar sing the blues like no other. They bonded over their shared love for classic rock and blues, and decided to combine their musical talents to form Elliptical Leather.

The band struggled for the first few years, playing in small venues and local events. Their big break came when they were discovered during a battle of the bands competition in Austin. Their unique sound caught the ears of music promoter, Saul “Spinner” Goldstein, who quickly signed them up. With Spinner’s guidance, Elliptical Leather began gaining momentum, eventually becoming a well-respected name in the Texas blues-rock scene and abroad.

3. Song Title:

“Midnight Whiskey Serenade”

4. Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Down the alley, in the midnight glow,
Got my guitar ready, letting it flow.
Got an aching heart, an empty soul,
Blues in my fingers, just need to let it go.

(Chorus)
Midnight whiskey serenade, hear the strings sway,
Pour another glass, let the music play.
No more tears to shed, got no words to say,
Just a midnight whiskey serenade, in the cool night’s bay.

(Verse 2)
See the moonlight’s dance, on the empty street,
Feeling the rhythm, under my feet.
Lost in the echoes, of a lover’s cheat,
Playing my blues away, to the midnight beat.

(Chorus)
Midnight whiskey serenade, under the star’s display,
Pour another glass, let the music play.
No more love to give, got no games to play,
Just a midnight whiskey serenade, till the break of day.

(Bridge)
Oh, the tales of old, sung in smoky air,
Of lost love and gambled hearts, with no time to spare.
In the silence of the night, I lay my soul bare,
With a midnight whiskey serenade, a lonely lover’s prayer.

(Chorus)
Midnight whiskey serenade, in the darkness, I sway,
Pour another glass, let the music play.
No more dreams to chase, got no debts to pay,
Just a midnight whiskey serenade, till the light of day.
