Envious Option

Backstory:

Originally formed in 1996, Envious Option is comprised of four childhood friends from the small town of Huntsville, Alabama. The band comprises lead vocalist and guitarist, Alex Thompson, drummer Mick Foster, bassist Henry Scott, and keyboardist Lisa Davis. Inspired by their collective love for music and the desire to escape their mundane small-town life, they began to write and perform their own music, which quickly resonated with their peers. They gained local popularity through their energetic performances, and in 1999, they had their big break when they won the ‘Alabama’s Best Unsigned Band’ competition. This victory led to a recording contract and the rest, as they say, is history.

Envious Option’s music is a blend of their diverse influences, from classic rock and grunge to folk and indie pop. They have always focused on relatable lyrics, catchy hooks, and a raw yet polished sound. Through their journey, the band has faced various ups and downs but has always emerged stronger, with their music reflecting their growth and maturity. The friendship and mutual respect among its members have been the band’s cornerstone, fueling their creative synergy and persistent dedication to their craft.

“Chasing Shadows”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
C G Am F
Carved the fears, from these old years,
C G F
Chasing shadows in the night,
C G Am F
Lost in dreams, or so it seems,
C G F
In the darkness, we ignite.

(Chorus)
G Am F C
Burning bright, in the midnight flight,
G Am F
We’re the stars that never fade,
G Am F C
With our song, we will carry on,
G Am F
In the memories we’ve made.

(Verse 2)
C G Am F
Old town lanes and summer rains,
C G F
They echo in our song,
C G Am F
Through smiles and tears, across the years,
C G F
Together we belong.

(Chorus)
G Am F C
Burning bright, in the midnight flight,
G Am F
We’re the stars that never fade,
G Am F C
With our song, we will carry on,
G Am F
In the memories we’ve made.
