Even Spark

Backstory:
Even Spark was born in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee, a place known for its deep musical roots. The band came together in 2013 when frontman, Johnny Mercer, met drummer, Sarah Booth, at a local dive bar’s open mic night. After an impromptu jam session that had the whole bar up and dancing, the duo knew they had something special. They recruited jazz guitarist, Eddie Coleman, and classically trained pianist, Nina Franklin, and Even Spark was ignited.

In the beginning, the band played small gigs at the same dive bars they met at. However, their captivating performances and unique sound quickly gained them a loyal following. Their big break came when a scout for a major record label happened to catch one of their performances. Now, Even Spark is a name known across the country, their music a beacon for those who are seeking something different.

Genre:
The band falls into the Neo-Soul genre, blending elements of soul, R&B, and jazz to create a unique and contemporary sound.
