Backstory:
Every Publisher was born in the heart of Los Angeles in 2012. Its founding members, Johnny “Typewriter” Mason and Terry “Inkwell” Fischer, met in a dusty, forgotten bookstore, their mutual love for literature and music sparking their creative partnership. Despite the rampant digitization of the world, they held onto the belief that there was room for a band that combined old school rock with a literary twist. Incidentally, Every Publisher got its name from their shared admiration for every publisher who battled the odds and brought great works of literature to light.
Genre:
Every Publisher is primarily a rock band, drawing influences from classic rock bands of the 70’s and 80’s. They fuse their rock sound with elements of folk and punk, creating a unique musical landscape. Their lyrics often reflect themes from classic literature, poetry, and their own life experiences.
Title:
“Hardcover Heartbreak”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Em C
In a worn-out bookstore, drowned in despair,
G D
I found a tale of love, hidden in a dusty lair.
Em C
Between the lines, I saw your face,
G D
A memory etched, in time and space.
[Chorus]
Em C
Hardcover heartbreak, in dog eared pages,
G D
Lost in a story, across the ages.
Em C
Chapter by chapter, you tore me apart,
G D
A hardcover heartbreak, a broken heart.
[Verse 2]
Em C
In the pages, I read out loud,
G D
Your whispers, soft yet proud.
Em C
Through ink-stained tears, I read the end,
G D
An empty space, you could not mend.
[Chorus]
Em C
Hardcover heartbreak, in dog eared pages,
G D
Lost in a story, across the ages.
Em C
Chapter by chapter, you tore me apart,
G D
A hardcover heartbreak, a broken heart.
