Evil Furniture

Backstory:

Born in the eclectic backstreets of Austin, Texas, Evil Furniture is an assemblage of four childhood friends who came together in 2010. Comprising of lead vocalist and guitarist Jack ‘Couch’ Carter, bassist Sammy ‘Ottoman’ O’Hara, drummer Mike ‘Bookshelf’ Briggs, and keyboardist Tim ‘Coffee Table’ Turner, Evil Furniture is a band that embodies the spirit of rebellion against the conventional and mundane. Born with an insatiable curiosity for the unconventional, the band garners inspiration from their everyday surroundings, particularly their shared fascination with eerie antique furniture.

Their first gig was a spontaneous performance in a local thrift store where they worked, which coincidentally sold antique furniture. The peculiar name, ‘Evil Furniture’, was inspired by an ancient looking, ostensibly haunted, armchair that was the centerpiece of the store. With each performance, they further honed their unique sound, drawing in an ever-growing fan base that appreciated their eccentricity.

Favorite Fan & Testimonial:

Rebecca “Becky” Smith is Evil Furniture’s most ardent fan. Becky, who has attended every single one of their performances since their first impromptu gig, says, “There’s something incredibly haunting and mystical about Evil Furniture’s music. Their psychedelic rock brings to life the very ambiance of that old thrift store. The way they play with their instruments and create this ghostly yet entrancing atmosphere is nothing short of magical. It’s like they convey the souls of those ancient furniture pieces through their music. They are my favorite band because their sound is unique, their lyrics are profound, and their performances are always mesmerizing. Plus, they’ve got the coolest band name ever!”
