Backstory:
Exotic Battle emerged from the vibrant, diverse neighborhood of South End in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2008. The band was formed by four childhood friends – lead vocalist and guitarist Jason “Jay” Hawkins, bassist Michael “Mickey” Rodriguez, drummer Samuel “Sammy” Lewis, and keyboardist Rosa “Ro” Martinez. The band’s name was inspired by their love for fantasy novels and video games. From jam sessions in their parents’ garages to performing at local bars and clubs, their unparalleled passion for music helped them rise through the ranks of the Boston music scene.
In 2012, they were discovered by indie music producer, David Boucher, at one of their shows, who was instantly captivated by their unique sound and high-energy performances. They recorded their debut album, ‘Throne of Thorns,’ in 2013, which catapulted them to the national stage. Since then, they’ve released three more critically acclaimed albums and embarked on numerous sold-out tours across the country.
