Fat Impact

1. Fat Impact, formed in the outskirts of Los Angeles in the summer of 2008, was initially just a group of four friends who casually jammed in their parents’ garages. Comprising lead singer and guitarist, Jax ‘Thunder’ Holland; bassist, ‘Fat’ Frankie Mendez; drummer, Harry ‘Hurricane’ Perkins; and keyboard player, ‘Mysterious’ Micky Dawson, they quickly realized they had something special. Taking their name from an inside joke about the weight of their sound, their music was loud, raucous, and carried a powerful, unforgettable bang that quickly earned them a loyal following in the local scene.

2. Fat Impact was known for their unique fusion of punk rock and blues, delivering raw vocal performances over heavy guitar riffs and driving rhythms. They became the punk-blues sound of the late 2000s.

3. Their most popular song is “Thunder Roll & Lightning Roar.”

From the streets of L.A. where we were found,

We’re Fat Impact, pounding on your door,
With every strum, with every beat,
