Backstory:

Feminine Stem was formed in the heart of Melbourne, Australia, in 2011 by a group of four university friends – vocalist Lisa Walker, guitarist Laura Thompson, bassist Emma Clark and drummer Sarah Mitchell. The band members met while enrolled in a Women in Science and Engineering program. Their collective love for music and their shared experiences in their degree program ignited a spark that resulted in the formation of Feminine Stem. Their aim was to create music that would encapsively portray their journey as women in a field dominated by men.

The band faced its share of struggles initially, balancing between their studies and their passion for music. But their perseverance bore fruits when they got their first big break in 2013, performing at a local music festival. This was just the beginning of something extraordinary for Feminine Stem. Their unique blend of science-themed lyrics and powerful, catchy melodies resonated with the audience, and before they knew it, they were on their way to becoming a globally recognized brand.
