Backstory:
Few Snail emerged from the indie rock scene of Des Moines, Iowa, in 2009. The band was formed by childhood friends Adam Jenkins (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Luke Mitchell (lead guitar). Their distinctive sound began to take shape in their parents’ basements, fueled by a shared love of gritty rock and the peaceful nature of their small-town life. They were later joined by bassist Emma Lee and drummer David Cooper, thus forming the unique ensemble of Few Snail.
The band’s journey has been marked by their penchant for introspective lyrics and vibrant melodies that echo through their listeners’ hearts. The name “Few Snail” holds a unique symbolism for the band, representing their slow, steady, and unyielding journey in the music industry, just like the snails’ journey in life.

Title:
“Sunset on the Highway”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] On the open road, [Am] beneath the sky so blue,
[C] There’s a whispering wind, [G] telling tales untrue.
[Em] We’ve seen the rain, [C] the joy and the pain,
[D] But we keep moving, [G] like a train.
(Chorus)
[G] Sunset on the highway, [D] night begins to fall,
[Em] We’re chasing the horizon, [C] answering its call.
[G] The stars are our map, [D] and the moon our guide,
[Em] In this journey, [C] side by side.
(Verse 2)
[G] Through the city lights, [Am] and the quiet towns,
[C] We play our songs, [G] the ups and the downs.
[Em] We’re Few Snail, [C] steady and slow,
[D] Making our music, [G] ready to grow.
(Chorus)
[G] Sunset on the highway, [D] day begins to end,
[Em] We’re following our dreams, [C] around every bend.
[G] With each strum and beat, [D] a story we’ve told,
[Em] In our hearts, [C] it will forever hold.

Sarah’s Testimonial:
Few Snail is my absolute favorite band because they encapsulate the soul of indie rock. Their music is a sublime blend of beautiful melodies and deep, meaningful lyrics. “Sunset on the Highway” specifically resonates with me, as it’s not just a song, it’s a journey. The way they describe chasing dreams and the pursuit of art with a slow and steady approach really inspires me. It’s like they’ve put my own thoughts and feelings into song. They’ve been my companions through both tough and joyous times. That’s why Few Snail is more than just a band to me, they’re like friends encapsulated in music.
