Fine Grandmother

Backstory:
‘Fine Grandmother’ was birthed in the soulful city of New Orleans, Louisiana, in the spring of 2010. The band was made up of four close-knit friends: Jordan on vocals and rhythm guitar, Alex on lead guitar, Ian on the bass, and Ellie on the drums. They have a unique bond, which formed when they met at a retirement home where their grandmothers were roommates. The band was named ‘Fine Grandmother’ as a tribute to their grandmothers who inspired them to pursue their passion for music.

Their first performance was at the retirement home’s annual music fest, where their grandmothers proudly watched. They continued rehearsing in their basements and playing at local venues, gaining appreciation for their distinctive sound. Their music, full of emotion and narrative, resonated with audiences, leading them to record their debut album “Knitted Love” in 2012.

Genre:
‘Fine Grandmother’ best describes their music as Indie Folk Rock with a touch of blues inspiration.
