Backstory:
Flamboyant Corn kicked off in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas in 2010. Comprised of childhood friends Jake “the Rake” Roberts on lead vocals and guitar, Billy “the Kid” Williams on drums, and “Mad” Marcy Miller on bass. They started their journey in Roberts’ garage, with the goal of blending their love for classic rock, funk, and country into one cohesive sound. Fueled by their shared passion, they played in local bars and music festivals, quickly making a name for themselves in the Austin music scene.
The band’s big break came in 2013 when they won the prestigious Austin City Limits Music Festival’s Battle of the Bands competition. This catapulted them into the national spotlight, leading to a record deal and an opportunity to tour across the country. Despite their newfound fame, Flamboyant Corn has remained true to their roots, continuing to create music that’s as dynamic and unique as the city they hail from.

Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
(G) There ain’t nothing quite like a (D) Texan dawn,
(C) Breaking over the fields where (G) dreams are born.
(G) You may wonder, what’s the (D) secret of the south?
(C) It’s the lessons learned and the (G) kernels of truth.
[Chorus]
(D) Kernels of truth, (G) scattered in the wind,
(C) Seeds of wisdom, (D) where do I begin?
(G) Life’s a cornfield, (D) under the endless sky,
(C) Pluck the kernels of truth, (G) before you say goodbye.
[Verse 2]
(G) Down by the river, under the (D) sycamore tree,
(C) We played our music, wild and (G) free.
(G) With each strum, and each (D) beat of the drum,
