Backstory:
Forthright Hearing was formed in the eclectic city of Austin, Texas in the summer of 2010. The four-piece ensemble consists of lead vocalist/guitarist Emily ‘Em’ Johnson, drummer/backup vocalist Jeremy ‘Jay’ Anderson, bassist Tony ‘Tone’ Rodriguez, and keyboardist/backup vocalist Amy ‘A.K.’ Klein. The group met at a local music festival and found instant chemistry in their shared passion for storytelling through their music. They named themselves “Forthright Hearing” as a testament to their desire to express their thoughts and feelings honestly and plainly with the intent to connect with their audience on a deeper level.
