Fragrant Unix was born in the eclectic neighborhood of San Francisco, in the midst of the tech boom. The band members, comprising of four software engineers from various start-ups, discovered their shared passion for music during a late-night coding marathon. The band name, ‘Fragrant Unix’, was inspired by their love for coding and the aromatic coffees that kept them going through long, challenging nights. Their journey together started in basement jam sessions and has led them to stages across the country, enchanting audiences with their unique sound that marries the digital with the acoustic.

Fragrant Unix blends the electronic sub-genre of Chillwave with the heartfelt lyricism of Indie Folk, creating a sound that is both calming and thought-provoking.
