Backstory:
Formed in 2007, Frail Tank initially started as a group of college friends who shared a common love for rock music and a desire to disrupt the status quo. The members, lead singer Jayson Brundt, guitarist Kyle Henderson, bassist Mark Robson, and drummer Tim “Squid” Baker, spent their early years playing in local watering holes, gaining a small, but dedicated following. For them, the name “Frail Tank” symbolizes their juxtaposition of delicate emotions delivered with a hard-hitting sound. Their breakthrough came in 2010 when they opened for a well-known band, catapulting them into the limelight and securing a record deal.
Genre:
Frail Tank is known for their inventive approach to Post-Hardcore, with elements of Punk Rock and an undercurrent of Emo, weaving a sonic tapestry that is both raw and emotional.
Title:
“Shards of Yesterday”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1] (Dm C G)
Awake, adrift in the sea of memories (Dm C G)
Torn pictures, broken dreams, shards of yesterday (Am Em)
Each piece a tale, voiceless they speak (Dm C G)
Of laughter and pain, of love and bleak (Am Em)
[Chorus] (F G Am)
Shards of yesterday, they cut through my soul (F G Am)
With ragged edges, they make me whole (F G Am)
Shards of yesterday, time can’t erase (F G Am)
The echoes of love, the ghost of your face. (F G Am)
[Verse 2] (Dm C G)
In the mirror, a haunted reflection, I see (Dm C G)
A pale ghost of who I used to be (Am Em)
Shattered by time, scarred by the past (Dm C G)
In the fragments of mirrors, shadows are cast (Am Em)
[Chorus] (F G Am)
Shards of yesterday, they cut through my soul (F G Am)
With ragged edges, they make me whole (F G Am)
Shards of yesterday, time can’t erase (F G Am)
The echoes of love, the ghost of your face. (F G Am)
[Bridge] (Dm Em F G)
A silent whisper, a scream in the night (Dm Em F G)
In the shards of yesterday, I fight (Dm Em F G)
For a tomorrow, where love is not a ghost (Dm Em F G)
In the shards of yesterday, I’m lost. (Dm Em F G)
[Chorus] (F G Am)
Shards of yesterday, they cut through my soul (F G Am)
With ragged edges, they make me whole (F G Am)
Shards of yesterday, time can’t erase (F G Am)
The echoes of love, the ghost of your face. (F G Am)
