Fresh Duke

Backstory:
Fresh Duke was formed in the vibrant heart of Birmingham, England, in 2014. It started as a casual jam session between four friends – Ben, Terry, Howard, and Billy, in a shabby loft that was known more for its questionable plumbing than for its acoustics. The chemistry was immediate, as their contrasting musical backgrounds ignited a unique sound that was significantly different from anything they could have achieved individually. Their gigs in local pubs and small venues slowly but steadily started gaining traction, and in no time, their music became a local sensation.

Genre:
Fresh Duke plays a blend of Indie Rock and Funk, creating an infectious rhythm that is at once groovy, high energy, and foot-tappingly catchy. Their music is distinguished by the band’s love for unconventional compositions and quirky lyrics, leading to a fresh and compelling sound.

Title:
“Golden Afternoon”

Verse 1:
Em G D Em
Golden afternoon, I see you far too soon,
Em G D Em
Chasing the sun, we’re having fun, we’re on the run.

Em G D Em
Lost in the haze, your eyes, a smoky maze,
Em G D Em
Through the city lights, endless nights, in fiery fights.

C G D Em
Take me back, to that golden afternoon,
C G D Em
Where the words were few, beneath the crimson hue.

Em G D Em
Now the moon takes the stage, in a silent rage,
Em G D Em
Time has flown, and we have grown, in the twilight zone.

(Repeat Chorus)

C G D Em
In the dance of life, amidst the strife, cutting through like a knife.
