Backstory:
Frozen Chair was born in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, in the winter of 2005. The band members, Dave Taylor (lead vocals and bass), Chris “Chilly” Johnson (lead guitar), and Mitchell “Mitch” Hayes (drums), were college friends sharing a mutual passion for music. They began their journey by playing at local bars and college events, quickly gaining a reputation for their unique sound and energetic performances. The name ‘Frozen Chair’ was chosen on a chilly winter night, when the boys were lugging equipment to their first gig and found a chair frozen to the ground, an image they found both amusing and symbolic of their struggle and determination.

Song Title:
“Whispers in the Wind”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] On the edge of the [C] world, where the [D] sun goes down,
[G] We left our dreams [C] in a sleepy [D] town.
[G] Under the starry [C] night, we [D] heard the call,
[G] Packed our lives [C] into a rhythm [D] ball.
(Chorus)
[C] Whispers in the [G] wind, [D] where do we begin?
[C] Shouting from the [G] mountaintop, [D] we’ll never stop.
[C] We are the melody, [G] the frozen chair [D] of a symphony,
[C] Dancing with the [G] shadows, [D] beneath the gallows.
(Verse 2)
[G] Through the heartbreaks, [C] and the [D] circus of life,
[G] We found harmony [C] in the struggle, the [D] strife.
[G] The beat of yonder [C] drum, the [D] strumming of strings,
[G] Every note, a [C] story, in our hearts, it [D] rings.
(Chorus)
[C] Whispers in the [G] wind, [D] where do we begin?
[C] Echoing from the [G] valleys deep, [D] secrets we keep.
[C] We are the melody, [G] the frozen chair [D] of a symphony,
[C] Chasing the [G] horizon, [D] where our song is arisen.
Fan Testimonial:
Our favorite fan is Kelly Thompson. Kelly discovered us during one of our initial performances in a small bar in Chicago. She has been a fervent supporter ever since, attending every concert and even helping with promotional activities. Kelly says, “There’s something magical about Frozen Chair. Their music is raw and real, their lyrics are like poetry, and their energy is infectious. They’ve been my favorite band from the very first note I heard, and I can’t imagine that changing. Their song ‘Whispers in the Wind’ is an anthem for me, a reminder of the power of dreams and the beauty of resilience.”
