Fussy Type

Backstory:

Fussy Type was born out of the eclectic music scene of Austin, Texas in 2013. The band consists of five members: lead vocalist and keyboardist Dax DeLeon, bassist and backup vocalist Sydney Xu, lead guitarist Jackson “Jax” Hill, drummer Oliver “Ollie” Johnson, and violinist Mia Davis. The band initially met at a local music festival, each performing with different groups. They found a shared love of creating unique soundscapes and blending genres, leading to impromptu jam sessions that eventually gave birth to Fussy Type.

The band’s moniker was devised during their initial recording sessions, where each member’s meticulous attention to detail and commitment to perfection became evident. They became known for their constant tweaking, adjusting, and fine-tuning, leading their producer to affectionately label them a “fussy type.” The name stuck, and the band has since embraced this characteristic, ensuring every track they release is an auditory masterpiece.

Genre:

Fussy Type is known for their genre-bending style, largely classified as Indie Pop with strong influences from Folk, Rock, and Electronica.

“On the Edge of Ordinary”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em C G D
Dancing on the rooftop, under the city lights,
Em C G D
Lost in the chaos, but it feels so right.
Em C G D
You’ve got a smile that can outshine the stars,
Em C G D
And I’ve got a heart that’s been scarred.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
We’re on the edge of ordinary, in a world of our design,
Em C G D
With love as our sanctuary, in the corners of our minds.
Em C G D
Breaking down the barriers, we’re making our own rhyme,
Em C G D
On the edge of ordinary, we find extraordinary time.

(Verse 2)
Em C G D
Stealing glances in a crowded room,
Em C G D
A silent conversation beneath the moon.
Em C G D
Your laugh is a melody that I want to replay,
Em C G D
In the symphony of our everyday.

(Chorus)
