Genuine Stomach

Backstory:

Genuine Stomach was born out of a shared love for music and a mutual distaste for conventionality amongst four college friends in the heart of Detroit. The band includes lead vocalist and guitarist, Danny “Gut” McIntyre, bassist, Tim “Belly” Turner, drummer, Max “Pit” Peterson, and keyboardist, Sammy “Stomach” Smith. The name ‘Genuine Stomach’ was adopted after a spontaneous late-night brainstorming session, fueled by a combination of cheap pizza and cheaper beer. The band’s name reflects their raw, unfiltered sound and their commitment to creating authentic, gut-driven music that sticks with you, long after the last chord has faded.

The band made their debut in the local music scene quickly earning a reputation for their adrenaline-charged performances and unique sound. Their music journey has not been without its trials – from playing to empty bars to getting kicked out of rehearsal spaces, but each setback only solidified their bond and hardened their resolve. Genuine Stomach’s story is a testament to the power of friendship, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of artistic expression.

Song Title:
“Inside Out”

Full Song Lyrics:

Verse 1: (C, G, Am, F)
I’m feeling restless, caught in the middle
In this mess we call life, a riddle
A broken compass, an unread map
I’m just a lost boy, in this trap

Chorus: (Am, F, C, G)
I’m turning inside out, can you see me now?
In the darkness of the crowd, can you hear me shout?
I’m a whisper in the wind, a scream in the night
A Genuine Stomach, with an appetite

Verse 2: (C, G, Am, F)
Reflections warped in the mirror of time
In the rhythm of life, there’s no rhyme
A ship in the storm, a moth to the flame
In this game of shadows, there’s no shame

Chorus: (Am, F, C, G)
I’m turning inside out, can you see me now?
In the silence of the sound, can you feel me around?
I’m a tear in the rain, a star in the light
A Genuine Stomach, ready for the fight

Fan Testimonial:

My name is Lisa and I am probably Genuine Stomach’s biggest fan. This band isn’t just a band to me, it’s a lifeline. When I’m feeling down or lost, their music has a way of reaching out and pulling me back from the edge. The raw emotion in their lyrics, the powerful riffs, and the energy they exude in their performances is something I haven’t found in any other band. Genuine Stomach isn’t just their name, it’s their ethos. They play from their gut, their music is genuine, and it hits you right in the stomach. They are my favorite band because they’ve given me a soundtrack for my life, something to turn to when words fail me. They’re not just musicians, they’re poets, storytellers, and in a way, they’ve become my friends through their music.
