Giddy Recession

Backstory:

Giddy Recession, formed in late 2015, is a band that was born from the economic downturn of 2008. Its members, Mike “Giddy” Giddens and Paul “Recession” Reynard, who were both financial analysts at the time, found themselves out of work and in dire straits. Title:

“Wall Street Lullaby”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em C G D
Lost and broken, dreams unspoken,
Em C G D
In the shadows of the Wall Street giants.
Em C G D
We had it all, then came the fall,
Em C G D
In the aftermath, we found defiance.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
So sing a Wall Street lullaby,
Em C G D
For the hopes we had, the dreams that died.
Em C G D
One day we’ll rise, kiss the pain goodbye,
Em C G D
With our Wall Street lullaby, oh my.

(Verse 2)
Em C G D
Giddy times, steep climbs, then the recession,
Em C G D
Faces in the crowd, voices loud, a lesson.
Em C G D
In the echoes of the trading floor,
Em C G D
Lies a song, a tale of lore.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
So sing a Wall Street lullaby,
Em C G D
For the hopes we had, the dreams that died.
Em C G D
One day we’ll rise, kiss the pain goodbye,
Em C G D
With our Wall Street lullaby, oh my.

(Bridge)
Am Em G D
In the darkness, find the light,
Am Em G D
In our hearts, we’ll win the fight.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
So sing a Wall Street lullaby,
Em C G D
For the hopes we had, the dreams that died.
Em C G D
One day we’ll rise, kiss the pain goodbye,
Em C G D
With our Wall Street lullaby, oh my.
