Backstory:
Formed in the quirky district of Austin, Texas back in 2012, Glamorous Appendix is the brainchild of four lifelong friends with a shared passion for eccentric sounds and flamboyant performances. They originally met in high school where they bonded over their love for diverse music genres and a mutual dream to create something unique. The band’s name was a humorous nod to their drummer who had his appendix removed during their first gig. They saw it as a symbol of their commitment to the band: willing to sacrifice anything, even an organ, to keep the show going.
Genre:
Their music is an eclectic mix of Indie Rock and Art Pop, with a dash of electronic synth sounds thrown in for good measure. They cite influences from artists like Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, and St. Vincent.

Riding through the city’s glow,

I’m your only light.

Invisible by day, a ghost,

Shining through the dark.

In the echo of the silence,
Am Em
I will leave my mark.

Fan Testimonial:
The band’s favorite fan is Hannah Johnson, a music blogger from Dallas. She has followed Glamorous Appendix since their first coffee shop gig and has been their most vocal supporter. Hannah says, “Glamorous Appendix is my favorite band because they disrupt musical norms. Their lyrics are thoughtful, their melodies are unpredictable, and their performances are always full of energy and creativity. They’re not just musicians; they’re artists painting vivid images with their songs. Plus, they’ve got a great sense of humor. Who else would name their band after a removed organ?”
