Backstory:
Glum Governor was formed in the heart of Detroit, Michigan in 2012. The band consists of four childhood friends who grew up sharing a common love for music. The band’s name was inspired by the disillusionment with the political climate at the time, expressing a need for change and a rejection of the status quo. The band’s formation was largely a reaction to this political dissatisfaction – a way to channel their frustrations and emotions into something creative and meaningful.
In the early years, Glum Governor played small gigs in local bars and cafes, slowly building a reputation for their unique sound. In 2015, they were spotted by a local record label executive and offered a recording contract. Since then, they have released three critically acclaimed albums and have toured extensively across the country, earning a dedicated fan base along the way.

Title:
“Running from the Sunrise”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Am C G D
Running from the sunrise, we’re chasing the moon.
Am C G D
Tired eyes and restless hearts, caught in the boon.
Am C G D
Empty streets and broken dreams, we’ve got nothing to lose.
Am C G D
Every beat and every scream, it’s a path we choose.
[Chorus]
Am C G D
We are the glum governors, we rule the night.
Am C G D
In the darkness, we find our light.
Am C G D
We won’t surrender, we won’t give in.
Am C G D
With the music, we always win.
[Verse 2]
Am C G D
Under the stars we make our stand, with guitars in our hands.
Am C G D
In the echoes of our songs, we find our promised land.
Am C G D
Through the chaos and the noise, we find our voice.
Am C G D
In the silence of the dawn, we make our choice.
[Chorus]
Am C G D
We are the glum governors, we rule the night.
Am C G D
In the darkness, we find our light.
Am C G D
We won’t surrender, we won’t give in.
Am C G D
With the music, we always win.
