Backstory:

Born in the heart of Washington D.C., Graceful Democracy is the brainchild of four college friends who shared a mutual passion for music and politics. The band was formed in 2012 during the presidential election. Their music served as a conduit for their political insights and societal commentary. Frontman and lead vocalist, Tim Gallagher, was a political science major, while drummer Mark, bassist Sarah and guitarist Peter were all studying various aspects of media, communication and public policy. They felt a burning desire to express their thoughts on the state of the nation and the world through their music, thus Graceful Democracy was born.

Their music quickly gained traction in their university scene, and it was not long until they were playing in local bars and clubs. Their songs, filled with astute observations and lyrical wit, became anthems for political rallies and protests. Their first album, ‘Voice of the People’, which was released in 2014, was critically acclaimed and immediately established them as one of the most politically conscious bands of their generation.
