Backstory:
Grotesque Shock, founded in the late 2000s, emerged from the underground music scene of Austin, Texas. The band was formed by a group of childhood friends – Sam “Screamer” Johnson on vocals, Billy “Blaster” Smith on guitar, Mike “Mad Cat” Foster on drums, and Rob “Ravager” Anderson on bass – who shared a mutual passion for raw, chaotic music and an unquenchable desire to shake up the world of rock. They spent their early years playing at local punk venues and house parties, honing their distinct sound and gaining a small, devoted following. Their breakthrough came in 2012 with their debut album “Distorted Reality,” which became an unexpected hit among fans of alternative rock.
