Grown Prayer

Backstory:

Grown Prayer was conceived on a starry night in a small backwater town in Missouri. Childhood friends, Logan Peters (vocalist and lyricist), Caleb James (lead guitarist), and Sophia Davis (bassist and backup vocals) found solace in music, creating an escape from the mundane realities of their rural life. One night, under the glow of a full moon, they found themselves singing by the bonfire, their voices harmonizing with the crackling fire and cicada songs. This experience inspired them to form a band, and thus, Grown Prayer was born. The name symbolizes their evolution from small-town dreamers to a harmonious unit, pouring their hopes and fears into music that resonates with people across the globe.

Title:
“Running Water”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em
Underneath the willow’s sigh,
C
We traced our dreams in the sky,
G
Running water, whispering tales,
D
Of past lives and forgotten trails.

(Chorus)
Em
Keep running, running water,
C
Carry our hopes farther,
G
Into the heart of the river,
D
Where our grown prayer will quiver.

(Verse 2)
Em
As moonlight dapples on your face,
C
In your eyes, I find my space,
G
Running water, echoing youth,
D
In its flow, we find the truth.

(Chorus)
Em
Keep running, running water,
C
Carry our dreams farther,
G
Into the heart of the ocean,
D
Where our grown prayer finds motion.

(Outro)
Em
Underneath the endless sky,
C
We let our grown prayer fly,
G
Running water, we’re no longer stray,
D
For in its flow, we’ve found our way.

Favorite Fan Testimonial:

“My name is Lucy, and Grown Prayer is my favorite band. The depth and rawness of their music are unparalleled. It’s like they’ve taken the essence of life, love, dreams, and struggles and woven it into their songs. ‘Running Water,’ in particular, is a track I listen to on repeat. The lyrics reflect my own journey, and it’s like they’ve sung my life story. Grown Prayer’s music is not just a distraction but a form of therapy for me. They’re more than a band to me; they’re like friends I’ve never met, who understand me more than anyone else.”
