Backstory:
Formed in the heart of the bustling city of Chicago in 2012, Gullible Meaning is an eclectic group of musicians that find inspiration in the everyday struggle and victories of the human condition. The band members, lead vocalist Jake Sullivan, guitarist Mark Davis, bassist Lilly Howard, and drummer Sam Miller, met at a local open mic night. They were all there performing as solo artists or part of other bands, but it was their shared passion and mutual influences that led them to form Gullible Meaning. Their music reflects their innately profound understanding of life and its various nuances. With each of their songs, they attempt to portray the beauty in vulnerability and the strength in acceptance.

Title:
“Chasing Echoes”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em C G D
In the heart of the city, under the flickering neon lights,
Em C G D
We’re just shadows chasing echoes, in the depths of the night.
Em C G D
Lost in the hustle, blinded by the enticing sights,
Em C G D
Are we gullible or daring, in this endless fight?
(Chorus)
Em C G D
Chasing echoes, in this concrete jungle so vast,
Em C G D
Rushing against time, but tethered to the past.
Em C G D
Gullible meanings, veiled in the echoes we cast,
Em C G D
In this labyrinth of life, we remain steadfast.
(Verse 2)
Em C G D
In the silence of the crowd, we find our solitary song,
Em C G D
In the chaos of our minds, we find where we belong.
Em C G D
In the echoes of our dreams, we find our meaning strong,
Em C G D
In this symphony of life, we dance along.
(Chorus)
Em C G D
Chasing echoes, in this urban tale we narrate,
Em C G D
Bound by destiny, yet we control our fate.
Em C G D
Gullible meanings, in the echoes we create,
Em C G D
In this maze of existence, we continue to navigate.
