1. Backstory:
Half Wrench was formed in 2007 in the vibrant and bustling music scene of Austin, Texas. The four-piece band consists of lead vocalist, Jackson “Jax” O’Neil, guitarist, Lucas “Luke” Moreau, bassist, Andrew “Drew” Stark and drummer, Eli “The Machine” Thompson. The band members met while working as mechanics in the same auto shop, hence the name “Half Wrench”. They bonded over their shared love for music and began practicing together during their breaks. Their music was soon noticed by a local radio DJ who gave them their first break, leading to their first gig in a local pub.
From these humble beginnings, Half Wrench has seen a meteoric rise to fame. Their distinctive sound, a blend of rock and blues with a touch of southern grit, has set them apart from the rest of the indie scene. They’ve released three studio albums to date, each one more successful than the last. Their authentic, down-to-earth persona combined with their heartrendingly poignant lyrics has earned them a dedicated fan base.
