Backstory: Formed in the bustling city of New Orleans in 2015, Handsome Ball was born from the diverse musical heritage of its four members: lead vocalist and bassist Michael “Micky” James, guitarist Jeremiah “Jerry” Sullivan, drummer Jason “Jay” Collins, and keyboardist Rachel “Ray” Thompson. The quartet met while studying at a jazz academy and soon discovered a shared passion for blending their jazz roots with a more modern sound, creating a uniquely captivating musical style. Their love for music and tenacious pursuit of their creative vision quickly propelled them into the spotlight, and they soon found themselves performing at popular jazz festivals and music venues across the country.
