Backstory:
Formed amidst the whimsical fog of San Francisco in 2008, Happy-Go-Lucky Daughter embodies the soulful spirit of free-spiritedness. The band’s four members, lead singer and guitarist Jessica “JJ” Jones, drummer Mike “Thundersticks” O’Leary, bassist Hannah “H-Bomb” Lee, and keyboardist Darren “Dazzling D” Smith, met at a small, bohemian café during a local open mic night. They bonded over their shared love of music that transcends genres and forms, deciding to form their own band. Their music is a testament to their shared experiences, their love for the city, and the boundless joy they find in the everyday.
Over the years, Happy-Go-Lucky Daughter has gathered a vast following mesmerized by their eclectic style, their joyous and sometimes melancholic lyrics, and their ability to strike a chord within the deepest crevices of the heart. They have had their fair share of ups and downs, but the band remains resilient, bringing their unique flavor of music to the world.

Title:
“Rain on Our Parade”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Gmaj7 Em Cmaj7
Running down the streets of our old town,
Dmaj7 Gmaj7 Cmaj7
Laughing under the cloudy skies that frown,
Em Dmaj7 Gmaj7 Cmaj7
We found love in the corners of our youth,
Dmaj7 Em Cmaj7
As the rain fell, we discovered truth.
(Chorus)
Gmaj7 Dmaj7 Em Cmaj7
Let it rain on our parade,
Dmaj7 Em Gmaj7 Cmaj7
Nostalgia won’t ever fade.
Gmaj7 Dmaj7 Em Cmaj7
Through the storm, we’ll wade,
Dmaj7 Em Gmaj7
Just like the promises we made.
(Verse 2)
Gmaj7 Em Cmaj7
Under the city light’s soft glow,
Dmaj7 Gmaj7 Cmaj7
We danced where the wild winds blow.
Em Dmaj7 Gmaj7 Cmaj7
With every drop, a memory we’ve sowed,
Dmaj7 Em Cmaj7
In the rain, our love story unfold.
(Chorus)
Gmaj7 Dmaj7 Em Cmaj7
Let it rain on our parade,
Dmaj7 Em Gmaj7 Cmaj7
Nostalgia won’t ever fade.
Gmaj7 Dmaj7 Em Cmaj7
Through the storm, we’ll wade,
Dmaj7 Em Gmaj7
Just like the promises we made.
