Hasty Colony

Backstory:
Formed in the creative hub of Austin, Texas in 2012, Hasty Colony consists of four members: lead vocalist and guitarist, Alex Hooper, drummer, Charlie Riley, bassist, Jordan Chambers, and keyboardist, Luke Benson. The band members met while attending the University of Texas, all majoring in various arts and music programs. Their mutual love for music eventually led them to start jamming together in college dorms, basements and local bars. It was during one of these jamming sessions that they decided to form Hasty Colony, a name inspired by their seemingly rush decision to form a band and the close-knit community they belong to.

Title:
“Dawn’s Early Light”

Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, we search for grace,
Em C G D
Underneath the starry canvas, we take our place,
Em C G D
Broken hearts and shattered dreams, we embrace,
Em C G D
But in the Dawn’s Early Light, we find our pace.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
Oh, in the Dawn’s Early Light, we’re not alone,
Em C G D
Hand in hand, in the shadow, seeds are sown,
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, love is shown,
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, we’ve grown.

(Verse 2)
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, we face our fears,
Em C G D
In the silence of the morning, wipe our tears,
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, the path clears,
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, the end nears.

(Chorus)
Em C G D
Oh, in the Dawn’s Early Light, we find our way,
Em C G D
Through the maze of life, we do not sway,
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, we do not fray,
Em C G D
In the Dawn’s Early Light, we stay.

Fan’s Name: Sarah Thompson

“I’ve followed Hasty Colony since their early days, playing at dive bars in Austin while I was in college. Their music speaks to my soul, with its poignant lyrics and melodic tunes. Alex’s voice is raw and powerful while Charlie, Jordan, and Luke provide a robust musical backbone. Over the years, their music has been both my comfort and my celebration. They aren’t just musicians, they are storytellers. Every song is a new narrative, a new emotion, a new experience. They’re not afraid to tackle the hard stuff, but they do it in a way that leaves you feeling hopeful. Hasty Colony is my favorite band because they are real, they are passionate, and their music never fails to move me.”
