Backstory:
Hefty Seat was born in the bustling heart of Brooklyn, New York, in 2008. The quartet was comprised of childhood buddies, Frank “Fry” Douglas on lead vocals and bass, Danny “Dingo” Wells on drums, and twins, Ethan and Evan “Double E” Morales on the guitar and keyboard respectively. With a passion for music and a knack for fusing different genres, the band began their journey as a garage band, playing local gigs and open mics. Their eclectic sound quickly caught the attention of the local scene, earning them a loyal fanbase and eventually landing them a record deal in 2011.
Genre:
Hefty Seat’s music is an intriguing blend of Indie Rock meets Psychedelic Pop. Their distinctive sound, characterized by trippy keyboard tunes, layered guitar riffs, a pulsating rhythm section, and Fry’s soulful vocals, set them apart in the crowd of emerging bands. They have a knack for infusing their songs with a driving sense of rhythm while still retaining an infectious pop sensibility.

(Verse 1)
[Dm] Met her at the corner of [G] dream street and reality,

[F] She’s the girl with the [C] cosmic smile,
[Dm] Painting colors in my [Am] black and white,
[G] With her loose threads, and [Am] love beads,
[Dm] She’s the rhythm to my [G] melody.

[Dm] We danced through the twilight, [G] lost in the city lights,

[G] We found our own [Am] symphony.
(Chorus)
[F] She’s the girl with the [C] cosmic smile,
[Dm] Adding magic to my [Am] mundane life,
[G] With her loose threads, and [Am] love beads,
[Dm] She’s the rhythm to my [G] melody.
Fan Testimonial:
Our band’s favorite fan is none other than Emily “Ems” Stone. Ems has been with us since our garage days. She was our first fan, the one who believed in us when we were just a local band trying to make a name. Ems says, “Hefty Seat has been my favorite band since I first heard them at a local gig in 2009. Their music has the perfect blend of soulful lyrics and psychedelic tunes. Over the years, their music has been my companion through highs and lows, and I can’t imagine a world without their tunes. They have touched my life in a way no other band has.”
