Humiliating Loss

Backstory:

Humiliating Loss was formed in 2005 in the heart of New York City by school friends, lead vocalist Benji ‘Madman’ Maddox and drummer Tom ‘The Beat’ O’Donnell. The duo, after experiencing a series of personal and professional setbacks, decided to channel their feelings of despair and humiliation into their music, giving birth to Humiliating Loss. They were later joined by Sarah ‘Siren’ Matthews on bass and the enigmatic Johnny ‘No Name’ on lead guitar. Their collective experiences of loss, struggle, and, most importantly, resilience, have shaped their music and given them a unique voice in the industry.

Genre:

Humiliating Loss is a punk rock band with a twist of emo and a dash of grunge. Their sound is characterized by hard-hitting drums, intense guitar riffs, and emotional, raw vocals that resonate with their listeners on a deeply personal level.

Title:

“Shadow of My Former Self”

Lyrics:

(Verse1)
C Em G D
I used to be so full of life, high up in the clouds,
Now I’m just a shadow of my former self, lost in the crowd.
I looked into the mirror but I didn’t recognize,
The face staring back at me, hiding behind these tired eyes.

(Chorus)
G D Em C
I’m the shadow of my former self, can’t see the light,
Lost in darkness, can’t seem to put up a fight.
I’m the shadow of my former self, standing in the rain,
Haunted by memories, drowning in the pain.

(Verse2)
Em G C D
Once I used to laugh so loud, without a care,
Now my laughter’s lost, replaced with this despair.
I used to dream so big, with hope in my heart,
Now I’m just a shadow, torn apart.

(Chorus)
G D Em C
I’m the shadow of my former self, life’s a bitter pill,
Trapped in my thoughts, lost in the chill.
I’m the shadow of my former self, a fading silhouette,
Living in the past, full of regret.
