Humongous Collector is an uncanny blend of old school friends and music lovers who stumbled upon a shared passion and dream of making music that touches souls and stirs the spirit. The band was formed in 2014 in the whimsical town of Bakersfield, California, where the five members, Johnathon ‘Johnny’ Higgs, Carl ‘CJ’ Jefferson, Samantha ‘Sammy’ Richards, Lucas ‘Luke’ Anderson and Melanie ‘Mel’ Gibson first met in high school. They became inseparable not just as friends but also as music enthusiasts who shared a love for edgy, raw sounds, and powerful lyrics. The name ‘Humongous Collector’ was inspired by their shared hobby of collecting vinyl records from thrift shops and garage sales, symbolizing their collective desire to gather and share diverse musical influences.
