Backstory:
Humongous Journalist, formed in the brightly illuminated city of Austin, Texas, started out as a high school garage band in the late ’90s. The leading members, Jimmy ‘Red’ Davis and Sarah ‘Thunder’ Lopez, were both raised in musical families and shared an indomitable passion for music. Red, the lead singer and guitarist, was known for his potent voice, coupled with his mesmerizing guitar skills. Sarah, on the other hand, was a prodigious drummer who breathed life into the band’s music with her rhythmic prowess. The duo, after working on solo projects, felt an inexorable pull towards one another’s distinct music styles, which led to the formation of Humongous Journalist.

Their journey was not without its ups and downs. The band struggled with finding a unique sound that represented their diverse music influences from blues, rock, and folk. However, they pushed through the challenges, honing their craft, and eventually found their unique sound.
