Idle Apparatus

Backstory:

Idle Apparatus was formed in a dusty garage in the middle of Idaho during the simmering summer of 2012. Jake Hartley and Ben Walters, childhood friends with a shared passion for music, decided to put their dreams into practice and picked up their instruments. Jake, a self-taught drummer, and Ben, a natural on the guitar, started jamming together and soon realized that their unique sounds meshed perfectly. With the addition of Catherine Miller on bass and Eliot Hayes on vocals, what started as a hobby between friends transformed into a fully-fledged band, each member contributing their unique sound and style to the mix.

The band spent countless nights and weekends practicing, their love of music and commitment to their craft evident in the progression of their sound. It didn’t take long for word about Idle Apparatus to spread beyond their small town, and before they knew it, they were booking gigs in Boise and even Portland, quickly becoming a favorite among indie rock enthusiasts across the region.

Title:

“Shadows and Echoes”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Out here in the [Am] silence, [Em] under the stars
[G] Looking for answers [Am] in old dusty bars
[Em] Hear the whispers of [C] yesterday,
[D] The apparitions that [G] won’t go away

(Chorus)
[C] Shadows and echoes, [D] in the corners of our [G] minds
[C] Remnants of places, [D] and people we left [G] behind
[Em] They dance in the darkness, [C] they sing in the wind
[D] Shadows and echoes, [G] of what might have been

(Verse 2)
[G] Walking through [Am] memories, [Em] worn and faded
[G] Love lost and [Am] found, [Em] dreams we traded
[C] Captured moments [D] in a grain of sand,
[G] The Idle Apparatus of [Am] a forgotten band

(Chorus)
[C] Shadows and echoes, [D] haunting our dreams
[C] Of a time long past, [D] and all that it means
[Em] In the silence, [C] they rise and they fall,
[D] Shadows and echoes, [G] we carry them all.

“Idle Apparatus has been my favorite band since I first heard them at a local gig in Portland. Their unique blend of indie rock, meaningful lyrics, and soulful melodies instantly spoke to me. The song ‘Shadows and Echoes’ especially resonated with me, and I could feel every emotion they poured into it. Even as they’ve grown in popularity, they’ve stayed true to their roots and humble beginnings. Their passion for music is evident in every note they play, and I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next.”
