Ignorant Grass

Backstory:
Ignorant Grass was formed in 2011, in the heartland of Austin, Texas. Band members Brian ‘Bud’ Defoe (vocals, guitar), Samantha ‘Sam’ Cross (drums), and Hank ‘Harmonica’ Fuller (bass, harmonica) were initially school friends who shared a passion for music. They pooled their talents and formed Ignorant Grass, intending to create music that resonated with their love for the extraordinary yet simplistic beauty of their surroundings. Their name, Ignorant Grass, was inspired by their humble beginnings and a desire to grow despite life’s challenges, just like a blade of grass.

The band began their journey by performing at local bars and gradually gained a loyal fanbase. Their breakthrough came in 2015 when they were invited to perform at the revered Austin City Limits Festival. Their performance was so well-received that they were immediately signed to a record label. Their journey from then on has been a rollercoaster ride of success and growth.

Title:
“Roots and Rainbows”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1: G-Em-C-D)
In the calm of the storm, under the azure sky,
Down where the ignorant grass meets the crow’s eye,
With our bare feet on the earth, hearts open wide,
We found a place where dreams and reality collide.

(Chorus: G-D-Em-C)
We’re roots and rainbows, the song and the silence,
A dance in the moonlight, the peace in the violence,
In the love of the land, and the pride of the place,
We found a rhythm, a melody, a grace.

(Verse 2: G-Em-C-D)
In the heat of the summer, under the prairie moon,
Where the ignorant grass sways to a wild tune,
With the whispering wind, we let our spirits fly,
In this vast canvas, under the Texas sky.

(Chorus: G-D-Em-C)
We’re roots and rainbows, the joy and the sorrow,
The promise of today, the hope of tomorrow,
In the rhythms of the river, the whispers of the trees,
We found our harmony, as simple as a breeze.
