Ill-Fated Engineering

Backstory:
Born on the outskirts of Seattle in the turbulent tech bloom of the 90s, Ill-Fated Engineering is a quintet comprised of former computer programmers who swapped their coding careers for a more melodic path. The band members, drawn together by a shared disillusionment with the tech world and a common love for music, started by playing clandestine gigs in basements and garages. Their unique sound, interlaced with satirical commentary on the tech industry, soon caught the attention of local listeners and they subsequently gained a cult following. Today, they’ve traded the basements for concert halls, their lyrics echoing with hard-hitting reality and humor that resonates with their audience.

Title:
“Binary Ballad”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[Am] I once was a coder, lost in the [G] sea,
[Dm] Dreaming in Java, C++ and [E] Ruby,
[Am] Algorithms and systems, that was my [G] game,
[Dm] In a world of ones and zeroes, everything [E] the same.

(Chorus)
[F] But now I’ve found my rhythm, [C] found my beat,
[G] In the heart of this chaos, I’ve [Am] found my feat,
[F] No more silent suffering, no more [C] unseen tears,
[G] I’ve traded binary for ballads, swapped [E] bugs for cheers.

(Verse 2)
[Am] Silicon Valley, that was my [G] home,
[Dm] But in the cold steel towers, I felt [E] so alone,
[Am] Now on the stage under the [G] neon light,
[Dm] I’ve found my place, found my [E] flight.

(Chorus)
[F] So I sing this binary ballad, [C] sing it loud,
[G] For every coder, lost in the [Am] cloud,
[F] We’ve got a voice, we’ve got a [C] song,
[G] In the world of music, we [E] belong.

(Bridge)
[Am] From debugging to drumming, [G] scripting to solos,
[Dm] We’ve come a long way, from [E] tech to rock and roll,
[Am] From AI to amps, from [G] data to distortion,
[Dm] This is our story, our [E] revolution.

(Chorus)
[F] So here’s to the coders, the [C] rebel souls,
[G] Trading keyboards for guitars, finding [Am] new roles,
[F] This is our anthem, our [C] binary ballad,
[G] Singing out loud, we’ve [E] had it, we’ve had it.
