Ill-Fated Patient

Backstory:
Ill-Fated Patient is the brainchild of childhood friends Keith Jennings and Marcus Roberts. Growing up in the rust-belt town of Steelridge, Ohio, they spent their youth exploring abandoned factories and writing music that echoed the raw grit and grimy beauty of their surroundings. The duo expanded to a quartet when they recruited local bass prodigy, Sylvia Dean, and unruly drummer, Richie ‘Sticks’ James, during their college years. This diverse mix of personalities created a unique sound that combined raw, emotional lyrics with a gritty musical backdrop that captured the spirit of their hometown.

Genre:
Ill-Fated Patient dabbles in a distinctive blend of Alternative Rock and Post-Punk, with a hint of Emo, a genre they’ve dubbed “Rust Belt Emo-Alt”. Drawing inspiration from bands like Radiohead, Joy Division, and My Chemical Romance, their sound is characterized by haunting melodies, heavy guitar riffs, and emotionally charged lyrics.

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[C] I’m a [G] rusted dream in an [Am] abandoned factory, [Em]
[F] lost among the relics of [C] forgotten machinery. [G]
[C] The echoes of our past [G] are whispering, [Am]
[F] buried deep within the [C] steel heart of this city. [G]

(Chorus)
[F] Rusted dreams, [C] shattered hopes,
[G] We’re the children of the [Am] ghost town folks.
[F] In the shadows, we [C] find our light,
[G] Singing through the [Am] rusted night.

(Verse 2)
[C] We’ve been breathing in the [G] dust of decay, [Am]
[F] Painting with the colors of an [C] industrial ballet. [G]
[C] But our hearts beat louder [G] than the silence, [Am]
[F] Writing songs in the [C] language of defiance. [G]

(Chorus)
[F] Rusted dreams, [C] shattered hopes,
[G] We’re the children of the [Am] ghost town folks.
[F] In the shadows, we [C] find our light,
[G] Singing through the [Am] rusted night.
