Backstory:
Impure Item is an avant-garde band formed in the eclectic heart of Portland, Oregon. The band was forged in 2016 from the remnants of different local indie bands, united by their shared love for unconventional sounds and a desire to break the norms of mainstream music. Their first meeting took place in a small, quirky coffeehouse where they bonded over their shared distaste for conformity and their love for pushing the boundaries of music.
Lead vocalist and guitarist, Elena Rodriguez, was a poet and visual artist, while drummer, Jeremy Smith, was a former punk rocker. The bassist, Thomas Bell, was a classically trained musician who developed a taste for experimental sounds, and the keyboardist, Michelle Lee, was a tech enthusiast with a knack for manipulating electronic sounds. Together, they formed a band that defied typical genre classifications, creating an entirely new soundscape that was entirely their own.
