Backstory:
Incomplete Painting is a band that originated in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, in the early 2000s. Founded by lifelong friends, Peter Manning, a former street artist, and Emily Mulligan, a piano prodigy, they found solace and unity in creating music that painted a picture of their lives, but was never quite finished – hence the name, Incomplete Painting. Joined by drummer, Michael Vasquez, a talented percussionist who had been playing in various bands since he was a teenager and bass guitarist, Laura Ford, a classically trained musician, they started creating music that resonated with a broad audience and quickly gained local popularity.
The band’s unique sound and lyrical depth were the result of their diverse backgrounds and shared experiences. They began by performing in local bars and cafes, gradually building a devoted and enthusiastic fan base. Their breakthrough came when their song, “Canvas in the Rain,” caught the attention of a music producer who was visiting Boston, leading to their first record deal.
