Ironclad Marriage

Backstory:

Ironclad Marriage started in the cold winters of Chicago in 2005. The band was formed by high school friends Jason “Jay” Reynolds and Benny “Ben” Pierce. After seeing the power and emotion that music could draw out, they decided to form a band that shared their own stories, lessons, and experiences. The name ‘Ironclad Marriage’ was chosen as a reflection of their strong bond and commitment to their music and each other, a marriage of sorts. Their journey started in the basements of friends’ houses, playing at small parties, and gradually, they found their way to pubs, clubs and later, concert halls.

In 2009, they were joined by the dynamic duo of Rose “Rosie” Jackson on keyboard and Mike “Mikey” Bell on drums. Rosie brought a distinct sound with her classically trained background, while Mikey added energy and rhythm that was pivotal in shaping the band’s overall sound. Ironclad Marriage was now a band of four, ready to rock the world with their unique blend of music.

Genre:

Ironclad Marriage’s music can best be described as a blend of Indie Rock and Emo Pop.

“One Step Away”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
G C Em D
Taken by the moonlight, we were dancing in the rain,
G C Em D
Overflowing hearts, trying to ease the pain.
G C Em D
Our eyes met, and you took my breath away,
G C Em D
I knew then, I was just one step away.

(Chorus)
Am Em D G
One step away from your love, one step away from your heart,
Am Em D G
In the silence of the night, I knew we’ll never part.

(Verse 2)
G C Em D
Through the ups and downs, we held on tight,
G C Em D
In the depths of despair, you were my light.
G C Em D
Through it all, there was always you and me,
G C Em D
In our ironclad marriage, we found our eternity.

(Chorus)
Am Em D G
One step away from your love, one step away from your heart,
Am Em D G
In the silence of the night, I knew we’ll never part.

(Outro)
G C Em D
As the sun sets, and the stars take the stage,
G C Em D
Hand in hand, we’ve crafted our own age.
G C Em D
In your arms, I find my destiny,
G C Em D
In our ironclad marriage, we’ll forever be.
