Jovial Taxi is a five-piece band originating from the lively streets of Melbourne, Australia. The band was formed during a chance meeting in a taxi in 2014, where the members discovered their shared love for music. The cab ride, filled with laughter and lighthearted banter, became the inspiration for their band name. Initially playing gigs at local pubs and music festivals, the band’s unique sound quickly garnered attention, and they were signed to indie record label, Soundwave Records, in 2017.

Jovial Taxi’s journey has been a whirlwind, finding success both locally and internationally. They have spent the last few years touring and sharing their music with the world. However, they never lose sight of their humble beginnings, always infusing their performances with the same spontaneous and joyful energy from their first taxi ride.
