1. Backstory:
Kindly Standing originated in a small, picturesque town in southern Maine. Best friends since childhood, lead vocalist and guitarist Josh Daniels, bassist Aaron Harding, and drummer Ryan Carter, found a common interest in music during their high school years. Josh, inspired by his grandfather’s love for the guitar, started penning lyrics and composing tunes, while Aaron and Ryan discovered their love for rhythm and beats in the school jazz band. Post-graduation, they pursued different paths and attended different universities but inevitably, their shared passion for music led them back to their home town. In the summer of 2012, in an attic filled with memories, Kindly Standing was born.
The band’s name, “Kindly Standing,” is inspired by their belief in standing strong in the face of adversity, with kindness as their weapon. They carry this ethos in their lyrics, music, and performances, creating an authentic connection with their fans.
