Known Flower was formed in the heart of Seattle, Washington, in the summer of 2009. The band members, lead vocalist and guitarist James Atkins, drummer Cindy Harper, bassist Luke Matthews, and keyboardist Ellie Thompson, met in a local music store, bonding over their shared love of vintage vinyl and an eclectic mix of musical influences. They decided to jam together and soon found a unique chemistry that led them to form Known Flower. Their music is a blend of the gritty energy of grunge, the earthy tones of folk, and the poetic sensibility of indie rock.
The band gained popularity through local gigs and then expanded their reach through online platforms. Known Flower’s rise to fame was meteoric, thanks to their relentless dedication to their craft and their strong connection with their growing fanbase.
