Backstory:
In the downtown of Chicago, hidden in the cacophony of the city, was the birthplace of ‘Lame Protein’. It was not the typical band creation story, instead, their story began in a community college cafeteria where four best friends, intrigued by their mutual love for music and their shared major – nutritional science, decided to form a band. Max (lead vocals and guitar), Julie (bass guitar), Carl (drums), and Sam (keyboard and backing vocals) wanted to vent their frustrations about the rigidity of the health culture whilst celebrating their love for music. Max, who was a vegan, sarcastically commented about his protein intake one day, which led to the name, ‘Lame Protein.’

Their reputation began to build through impromptu shows at college events, local clubs, and eventually music festivals. Their uniqueness was their charm, and they quickly became a favorite among health enthusiasts and music lovers, carving a niche for themselves in the music industry.
