Backstory:
Lawful Tourist originated as an amalgamation of four university friends from the eclectic city of Austin, Texas. Consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist, Theo, bassist, Jamie, drummer, Matt, and keyboardist, Lily – they came together in a university music room during their sophomore year. Each member came from a different academic discipline – Theo from law, Jamie from architecture, Matt from business, and Lily from anthropology. However, their shared passion for music and storytelling led them to form Lawful Tourist. The band’s name was inspired by Theo’s law studies and the group’s collective love for traveling – hence, a Lawful Tourist, exploring music and life through their unique legal and ethical lens.
