Legal Clothing

Backstory:
Legal Clothing was born in the dorm rooms of a law school in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally comprised of three law students – Sarah “Sonic” Forbes on vocals and guitar, Benny “Barrister” Jenkins on bass, and Mikey “Moot” Johnson on drums – they used music as an escape from the relentless pressure of their studies. Over time, they discovered that their collective passion for music exceeded their interest in law. They decided to give their band a chance, named themselves ‘Legal Clothing’ as a nod to their origins, and began playing gigs locally. Their unique sound combined with their undeniable chemistry on stage soon garnered a devoted following, leading them to abandon law entirely and hit the road as full-time musicians.

Title:
“Paper Thin Alibi”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em G
Riding through the echoes of time,
D A
Chasing shadows, committing no crime.
Em G
With every tick, every chime,
D A
We lost ourselves, in rhythm and rhyme.

(Chorus)
C G
Our paper thin alibi, under the midnight sky,
D E
In legal clothing, we learned to fly.
C G
Truth or a lie, doesn’t matter why,
D E
We wore our hearts, on our sleeves, oh high.

(Verse 2)
Em G
In the court of life, we played,
D A
Love, dreams, and promises we made.
Em G
With every beat, every shade,
D A
Our destiny, in music, was laid.

(Chorus)
C G
Our paper thin alibi, under the midnight sky,
D E
In legal clothing, we learned to cry.
C G
Truth or a lie, doesn’t matter why,
D E
We found our song, in the spaces, oh nigh.

In his words, “Legal Clothing isn’t just a band, they’re a voice for all of us who’ve had to choose between passion and expectation. They remind me that it’s okay to follow your heart, even if it leads you down an unconventional path.”
