Backstory:
Legal Deposit was formed by a group of five law students from Harvard University who found solace in music amidst the grueling law course. They banded together during their second year in school after discovering their shared passion for music during a fateful jam session in their dorm room. As they grew closer, they started to perform at local gigs and university events where they got recognition for their unique sound and catchy lyrics inspired by their course work. (verse)
[Am] In the silent halls of justice, [G] found a beat inside my heart

[F] Battling for the right cause, [E] found the soundtrack of my life
(chorus)
[D] You’re the clause of my heart, [A] you’re my legal deposit
[G] Every beat resonates, [D] like a gavel on the pulpit
[D] In the courtroom of my soul, [A] you’re the verdict that I seek
[G] With every deposition, [D] it’s your love that makes me weak

[F] Through the pages of the law books, [C] our tunes in every footnote
[G] Our melodies in arguments, [D] in every quote
(repeat chorus)
(Outro)
[Am] In the legal bind we sway, [G] we find our harmony
[F] In the laws that we portray, [E] we sing our symphony

“I’ve been following Legal Deposit since their early gig days at Harvard. Their music is a unique blend of rock and their lyrics have a compelling depth, often inspired by their experiences in law school. The song ‘Clause of my Heart’ just resonates with me as I’m a law student myself. It’s like they’ve found a way to perfectly portray our struggle in a melodious form. They’re not just a band to me, they are the voice of every law student including myself. That’s why Legal Deposit is my favorite band.”
