Backstory:
Light Chalk was formed in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, by the school friends, Max Harper (lead singer), Jenny Dawson (on drums), and brothers Jake (guitar) and Greg Collins (bass). They started their journey in Max’s basement, developing their sound and experimenting with different styles until they eventually found their unique voice. They named their band ‘Light Chalk’ as it embodied their belief in leaving temporary yet impactful marks on the world through their music.
The band faced many ups and downs, including many lineup changes and frequent financial constraints. The break came when their song ‘City Shadows’ was picked up by a local radio station, skyrocketing them to regional fame. With their determination, creativity and unwavering commitment to their music, Light Chalk has become a known name in the music world, inspiring many aspiring musicians with their story.
