Lonely Welfare

Backstory:
Lonely Welfare was conceived in the back alleys and abandoned warehouses of Detroit, Michigan. The four-member crew, consisting of lead vocalist Jack “The Voice” McAllister, guitarist Lucy “Thorns” Thorndale, drummer Max “Beatmaster” Jenkins, and bassist Harold “Pluck” Rodriguez, found their talents and their dreams converging amidst the city’s urban decay. Living through the adversity that their city faced, they decided to use their music as a tool to bring about awareness and social change. Decades later, they still remain steadfast in their message and their art, resonating with fans worldwide who identify with their cause and their sound.

(Verse 1: E – C#m – A – B)
In these forgotten streets, we walk alone (E – C#m)
Our dreams shattered like broken glass (A – B)
We are the unheard voices, the untold tales (E – C#m)
Living in the shadows of our past (A – B)

We’re the lonely welfare, we bear the cross (E – C#m)
The flame of hope, against all odds (A – B)
In the darkest abyss, we find our light (E – C#m)
Lost in shadows, we ignite the night (A – B)

(Verse 2)
On these bitter cold days, we warm our hearts (E – C#m)
With the strength of unity and faith (A – B)
For the world may forget, but we remember (E – C#m)
Our destiny is more than fate (A – B)

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge: G#m – A – B)
We rise from the ashes, a phoenix reborn (G#m – A)
A testament to the trials we’ve worn (B)
No longer will we be the unseen (G#m – A)
In the echoes, our voices will convene (B)

(Repeat Chorus)

Lost in shadows, but we shine so bright (E – C#m – A – B)
The lonely welfare, we ignite the night (E – C#m – A – B)

Band’s Favorite Fan:
Our most devoted fan goes by the name of “Detroit Danny”. Danny has been with us since the beginning, and has attended every one of our shows, big or small. Even when we were playing to an empty room, Danny was there, lost in the music, filling the void with his enthusiasm. Danny says, “Lonely Welfare is more than just a band to me, they’re the soundtrack of my life. Their music is raw, real, and filled with a passion that echoes the struggles and triumphs I’ve experienced. Their lyrics resonate with me on a profound level, and their performances are electrifying. For me, they’re not just a band, they’re a beacon of resilience and hope.”
